CBS Student Conference 20th March 2026

Back to listing

On Friday 20th March, as part of their Criminal Behaviour and Society module, our final year psychology students presented, in a conference format, research-based posters on UK domestic abuse cases of their choosing.

Cases were examined through multiple perspectives such as offender motivations, victimology, rehabilitation, and the legal and ethical issues surrounding the case. The event highlighted not only the depth of students’ independent research, but also their ability to apply criminological and psychological theory to real-world contexts.

Their passion for the subject was evident throughout and the event was both intellectually stimulating and impactful. Taking place in their final trimester, the conference was a fitting conclusion to their undergraduate journey

Student testimonial

The conference created a wonderful opportunity for students to come together, speak with one another, and connect as a group for what felt like one final time. The 90 minutes went by incredibly quickly. It was especially lovely to speak with staff members who came to view our work, and the coffee and biscuits made the atmosphere feel even more welcoming and enjoyable.
